About

Our Journey

Amethyst Changemakers began in 2020 as Math4Allabilities, a club founded by Amritha Praveen with the mission of making math accessible to students of all abilities. What started as a focused effort to support students in math quickly grew as we recognized a deeper need for inclusivity across all STEM disciplines. True STEM inclusion could not be achieved without educating students to embrace and support their peers with disabilities.

With growing volunteers and expert mentors, the club re-imagined itself as Amethyst Changemakers, a youth-led 501(c)(3) dedicated to accessible, inclusive STEM education. Today our team designs Universal Design for Learning (UDL) STEM kits, builds curriculum for disability allies, and coaches Title I classrooms across Illinois and beyond.
